A bit of good news for singles and those pretending to be single. Facebook has expanded its Dating feature to 14 countries including the Philippines. And not only that, it also added a new feature called “Secret Crush.”
So what is Secret Crush? First, you choose up to nine Facebook friends that you are romantically interested in. If your crush is also on Facebook Dating, he or she will receive a notification saying that someone has a crush on them. Then if your crush adds you to the Secret Crush list, the two of you will be matched and then you can chat about it to hopefully start a romantic relationship.
Facebook says that if your crush is not on Dating, doesn’t make a Secret Crush list, or doesn’t add you to their list, no one will know that you’ve entered your friend’s name.
Your Facebook Dating profile is separate from your Facebook profile, so nobody else will know that you are looking for dates. Your Dating profile won’t be shown to your friends and to other Facebook users who haven’t joined Dating. It will also not post to your timeline nor show up on news feeds. In other words, it’s totally secret except to other Dating members.
Facebook Dating uses Location Services to set your dating location and suggest people near you. And if you’re tired of dating or have found your significant other, you can always delete your Dating profile.
What do you think about Facebook Dating? Are you willing to try it?
