Facebook has announced a little bit of good news for its 1.3 billion users. Replying directly to a specific message is now made available by Facebook in order to make Messenger a little more convenient to its users.
How to do it?
Simply long-press the text that you want to reply and click or tap the reply icon. The original text to which you responded to remains visible, making it easier for the user to detect that the text was replied or reacted. This feature is also applicable to photos, videos, GIFs and emojis.
Threaded replies can be more appreciated in group chats because the user doesn’t need to go through the hassle of scrolling through chats to check if his message was responded or not.
This new Messenger feature is just the beginning. Don’t be surprised if threaded replies will soon be available on Instagram and Whatsapp, since Facebook is planning to combine all its messaging apps behind the scenes.
