The Holy Week, in Christian teachings and traditions, is the week before Easter and commemorates the suffering and death of Jesus Christ. As a predominantly Catholic country, the Philippines faithfully observes the Holy Week, and most business establishments and government offices are closed on those days. In line with this, we have come up with a list of bank schedules for Holy Week 2019 so that you will be financially prepared for these holidays.

The Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday (April 14) and ends on Black Saturday (April 20). Maundy Thursday (April 18) and Good Friday (April 19) are declared as regular non-working holidays as per Proclamation No. 555 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte. Black Saturday (April 20) is a special non-working holiday.

Banks in the Philippines are usually closed on regular non-working holidays such as Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, so we advise banking customers to perform their transactions before such holidays to avoid inconvenience. Some banks also use the Holy Week break to perform system upgrades, so some ATMs may not be available.

To make sure that you will not be short on cash this Holy Week, check out our list of bank schedules for Holy Week 2019:
