Just when you thought that memory cards couldn’t get any bigger, Samsung surprises everyone with a massive 512GB memory card. The Samsung EVO Plus 512GB microSD card can store more than 150,000 photos and 77,000 music files.
That sounds enticing indeed. The only obstacle is the price. On Samsung’s Germany website, the item is listed at 289 Euros or the equivalent of P17,000. This is almost three times the price of the 256GB version, which costs around P5,500.
Despite the prohibitive price, the Samsung 512GB microSD card still has plenty of features and benefits for the storage-hungry user. According to the Samsung website, the 512GB EVO Plus offers the highest capacity and the fastest read and write speed in its class, making it suitable for 4k UHD videos.
The Samsung EVO Plus 512GB microSD card has a read speed of up to 100MB per second and a write speed of up to 90MB per second. You can easily transfer a 3GB video to your computer or other devices in just 38 seconds.
The memory card can accommodate up to 24 hours of 4k UHD videos, 78 hours of Full HD videos, or 150,300 photos.
To keep your memories safe, the 512GB EVO Plus has a unique 4-fold protection, allowing it to withstand up to 72 hours of salt water, extreme temperatures, airport X-ray scanners and magnetic fields. It comes with a 10-year warranty.
If you’re someone who takes plenty of pictures and videos, or if you always find your camera or smartphone running out of space, maybe the Samsung EVO Plus 512GB microSD card is for you. The price may be a little discouraging, but with its massive storage space and a 10-year warranty, this memory card could be a worthwhile investment that will pay for itself in the long run.
