Want to know where to watch NBA games in the Philippines? We’re here to help you get your regular fix of world-class basketball. With the sad news that BTV and NBA Premium will no longer broadcast games on pay TV for the 2019-2020 season, many avid Filipino basketball fans are wondering where they can watch the NBA.
We don’t recommend watching the NBA on illegal streaming websites because aside from the fact that they’re, well, illegal, most of these websites are ridden with malware and viruses. Good thing is that there are several ways that Filipino basketball fans can watch NBA games for free – and legally too.
Facebook Watch and Twitter
NBA Philippines will broadcast one game per day for the first week of the season (October 23-29) on its Facebook and Twitter pages. Then from October 31 onwards, one game every Monday and Thursday will be shown.
Like or follow the NBA Philippines social media accounts listed above to get access to these games. To be notified when games are streamed live on Facebook, click the Following button and then choose See First. On Twitter, click the bell button next to Following to activate notifications.
Twice a week games may not be much, but beggars can’t be choosy, right?
NBA League Pass
Once again, the NBA League Pass opens its doors to basketball lovers who want to watch the games of their choice. With an NBA League Pass subscription, you can watch your favorite NBA teams and players live and on-demand on your computer, smartphone, tablet, smart TV, and any Internet-connected device. Every game is optimized for mobile viewing, allowing you to zoom in on the action.
NBA League Pass has three subscription plans: Team Choice, League Pass, and 3-Game Choice. Team Choice allows you to watch all regular season and playoffs + Finals games (if the team advances) for one team. League Pass gives you access to all 1,230 regular season games as well as every playoffs and Finals game. 3-Game Choice includes three games a month in the regular season, playoffs, Finals and summer league.
Team Choice costs ₱260 a month or ₱2,600 per season, while League Pass costs ₱570 per month or ₱4,700 per season. The 3-Game Choice plan is priced at ₱100 a month or ₱1,000 per season. There is also a weekly subscription for League Pass at ₱210 a week.
Each plan comes with a free 7-day trial so you can try it out with no obligation. You will not be charged until the end of the trial period and you can cancel your trial at any time. A valid credit or debit card is required to avail of the free trial.
Don’t have a credit card? The good news is that you can subscribe to the NBA League Pass using your prepaid load credits.
Smart and PLDT subscribers can also watch NBA games live and on-demand by purchasing a Day Pass, which gives 24-hour access to every game and costs ₱50. Smart prepaid and postpaid subscribers can avail of the Day Pass by texting NBA50 to 9999.
For now, these are the only legal options for Filipinos to watch live NBA games. We hope that TV broadcasts for the NBA will soon resume. For the meantime, just follow the NBA Philippines’ social media accounts or subscribe to NBA League Pass if you have some extra cash.
