At Tech Pilipinas, accuracy is the foundation of everything we publish. We hold ourselves to high editorial standards, but we acknowledge that errors can occur. When they do, we correct them promptly, transparently, and without hesitation.
This page explains how Tech Pilipinas handles factual errors, what types of corrections we issue, and how you can report a mistake to our editorial team.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
Every article published on Tech Pilipinas goes through an editorial review process before it goes live. We verify facts against primary sources – official company announcements, government publications, manufacturer specifications, and direct statements from named sources – before publishing.
Despite these efforts, errors sometimes slip through. Prices change. Policies are updated. Specifications are revised by manufacturers. When we get something wrong, we fix it.
We do not silently delete articles with errors. We do not quietly update content without acknowledging the change. Every correction, update, or clarification is documented on the article itself so that readers who saw the original version understand what changed and why.
Types of Corrections
Correction
A correction is issued when a factual error has been published, such as a wrong price, an incorrect specification, a misattributed quote, or any other verifiable inaccuracy. We correct the article and add a note at the bottom of the page in the following format:
Correction [Date]: An earlier version of this article stated [incorrect information]. This has been corrected to [accurate information].
Update
An update is issued when information was accurate at the time of publication but has since changed; for example, a price that has been revised, a feature that has been added or removed, or a policy that has been amended. Update notes appear at the top or bottom of the article:
Update [Date]: This article has been updated to reflect [description of change].
Clarification
A clarification is issued when the original text was not technically incorrect but was misleading, ambiguous, or incomplete in a way that could cause misunderstanding. We revise the relevant passage and note:
Clarification [Date]: A previous version of this article may have given the impression that [misleading statement]. To clarify, [accurate explanation].
Retraction
A retraction is issued in rare cases where an article contained serious errors that cannot be corrected through standard revisions, or where the article should not have been published in its original form. Retracted articles are labeled clearly at the top of the page with a full explanation of why the content was retracted. We do not remove retracted articles from the site unless there is a compelling legal or ethical reason to do so.
Response Time
We aim to acknowledge error reports within 24 hours and publish corrections within 48 hours of confirming that an error has occurred. Complex corrections that require additional research or verification may take longer. In those cases, we will acknowledge receipt of the report and provide an estimated timeline.
