Our Mission
To empower and enrich the lives of Filipinos with accurate, timely, and practical news, guides, and tutorials about technology
Our Vision
To be the leading online authority on technology matters in the Philippines – informing, educating, and empowering millions of Filipinos in the process.
Our Story
Tech Pilipinas was established in December 2017, after the founder, Luis Reginaldo Medilo, had an epiphany that he was going to be a tech blogger.
Luis didn’t know what to name his new brainchild, but fortunately the domain name techpilipinas.com was available for registration. Thus, Tech Pilipinas was born (“Pilipinas” is the Tagalog word for “Philippines”).
Wasting no time, Luis painstakingly put up the website on the WordPress platform (which is still being used today). He had no idea that he was on to something big.
Working day and night – sometimes until the wee hours of the morning – Luis slowly grew Tech Pilipinas from an obscure blog to a popular website with millions of readers and hundreds of thousands of followers.
Today, Tech Pilipinas is one of the most trusted and authoritative technology publications in the Philippines. To this day, Tech Pilipinas remains an independent outfit backed by more than two decades of computer and Internet experience of its founder.
Why Trust Tech Pilipinas?
There are dozens of technology websites and blogs in the Philippines. What makes Tech Pilipinas different and why you should trust us?
Written by an Experienced Editor
Every article published on Tech Pilipinas is written and reviewed by Luis Reginaldo Medilo personally. Luis has over 25 years of hands-on experience with computers and the Internet. His first encounter with the web was in 1999, and he has been building websites and writing about technology ever since.
He is the Top 1 Passer of the April 2006 Civil Service Examination (Professional Level) with a rating of 92.70%, as certified by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Region VII – a credential that reflects the analytical rigor and commitment to accuracy he brings to every article.
First-Hand, Experience-Based Content
We only write about topics we have personally tried and tested. For step-by-step guides and tutorials, every method is verified to work before a single instruction is published. If a procedure changes due to a software update or policy revision, the article is updated, with the revision date noted.
We do not publish claims we cannot independently verify. Sources are always official: company announcements, government publications, and direct statements from named individuals.
AI-Assisted, Human-Verified
We use AI tools to support research and drafting workflows. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked, and approved by Luis before publication. AI is a tool in our process. Editorial judgment, accuracy, and accountability remain entirely human.
Full details are available in our Editorial Policy.
Regularly Updated for Timeliness and Relevance
Technology moves fast. We go through the effort of updating our articles on a regular basis to ensure that the information we share is current and relevant. If an entire tutorial needs to be rewritten and all screenshots replaced, we do it, because our readers deserve accurate information, not outdated instructions
Millions of Loyal Readers
Since 2017, millions of readers from all over the world have visited Tech Pilipinas and found the help they were looking for. Nearly 1 in 5 of our visitors are return readers – a strong indicator that our content earns trust over time.
