Editorial Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Tech Pilipinas is a technology and digital lifestyle publication based in Cebu City, Philippines. Since 2017, we have helped millions of readers stay informed about the latest developments in technology and navigate the digital tools that shape everyday life in the Philippines.

This page describes the editorial standards, sourcing practices, and content policies that govern everything we publish.

Editorial Independence

Tech Pilipinas is an independently owned publication managed by Luis Reginaldo Medilo. We have no shareholders and do not accept external funding that influences our editorial decisions. We are not controlled by any corporate, political, or government organization.

While we accept advertising, sponsorships, and commercial partnerships to support our operations, these arrangements have no bearing on our news coverage, editorial judgments, or content decisions. Advertisers do not review articles before publication, do not request coverage as a condition of advertising, and have no influence over what we write.

All editorial decisions at Tech Pilipinas are made solely by our editorial team.

Content Standards

Tech Pilipinas holds all published content to the following standards:

Accuracy. Every article is fact-checked against primary sources before publication. Primary sources include official company announcements, manufacturer specifications, government publications, and direct statements from named individuals. We do not publish claims we cannot verify.

Sourcing. News articles are independently sourced by the Tech Pilipinas editorial team or drawn from verifiable, authoritative sources. All quotes are attributed to named sources. We do not publish anonymous claims without editorial justification.

Corrections. When we publish an error, we correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted directly on the affected article with the date of correction and a description of what changed. We do not silently alter or delete articles with errors. See our full Corrections Policy for details.

Reviews and recommendations. All products, software, and services reviewed on Tech Pilipinas go through a manual testing process. Our guides and how-to articles are written after personally testing and verifying the steps described. We do not publish reviews based solely on press materials.

Our Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Tech Pilipinas uses artificial intelligence tools to support our editorial workflow. We believe in being transparent about how these tools are used and where human judgment remains in charge.

How we use AI:

  • AI tools assist our editors in researching topics, drafting article sections, and improving sentence clarity
  • AI may be used to generate initial drafts, suggest headlines, or summarize source material
  • All content produced with AI assistance is reviewed, edited, fact-checked, and approved by a human editor before publication
  • AI-generated drafts are always verified against primary sources before being published

What AI does not do:

  • AI does not make editorial decisions on what stories to cover
  • AI does not replace our editors’ judgment on accuracy, fairness, or newsworthiness
  • AI does not publish content autonomously – a human editor approves every article

Our commitment: Editorial responsibility for everything published on Tech Pilipinas rests with our human editors and writers. We use AI as a productivity tool, not as a replacement for journalism. If we make an error, we correct it, and that accountability belongs to us, not to any algorithm.

Advertising and Editorial Separation

Tech Pilipinas generates revenue through display advertising, sponsored content, and affiliate partnerships. We maintain a strict separation between commercial and editorial content.

Display advertising (including AdSense and direct ad placements) appears in clearly designated areas of the site. Ad placements do not influence article content.

Sponsored content go through the same accuracy and factual standards as editorial content, but readers should be aware that they are commercially arranged.

Affiliate links may appear in some articles, particularly in product roundups and buying guides. When we include affiliate links, we disclose this at the top of the article. Affiliate relationships do not influence our recommendations; we only link to products we believe are genuinely useful to our readers.

Corrections and Updates

We are committed to correcting errors quickly and transparently. If you believe an article on Tech Pilipinas contains a factual error, please contact us at [email protected] with the article URL, the specific claim you believe is incorrect, and your suggested correction with a source if available.
