Do you have a problem with your electrical connection or last month’s utility bill? Instead of posting it on social media on the faint hope that someone will help you, why not contact the Meralco hotline and customer service department? That way, your urgent issues about your Meralco account or electrical connection will be resolved swiftly and effectively.

As a developing country, the Philippines is no stranger to brownouts and blackouts. These frequent power interruptions have become a way of life, to the extent that most households have a stockpile of candles ready for use during the next brownout. Power outages, however, are only a portion of the problems besetting many consumers.

In fact, there have been reports of Manila Electric Company (Meralco) customers getting overbilled despite their low electricity consumption. Most of these billing issues are due to errors in computation, and can be quickly resolved by calling the Meralco hotline or visiting their office. So if you think that you’ve been overcharged for your electric consumption, you may contact the Meralco customer service department to have your bill corrected and your payments refunded.

Other issues and concerns that you can raise with the Meralco hotline and customer service are:

  • Apply for a connection,
  • Reconnect or reactivate service,
  • Stop your electricity service,
  • Settle bill deposit and connection charges,
  • Report low bill or no bill received,
  • Request for official receipt,
  • Settle service irregularity,
  • Report payment not posted,
  • Request bill deposit refund, and
  • Many more.

If you don’t have the means to call the 24/7 Meralco telephone hotline, don’t worry because you can contact customer support by sending a text message or by chatting with them on Facebook. However, calling by phone is the fastest and most effective way to have your concerns attended to and your issues resolved.

In this article, we’ll talk about the different Meralco customer service channels and how to contact Meralco to get immediate assistance from the company.

Call the 24/7 Meralco Hotline Number

The Meralco hotline number to call for all your inquiries and complaints is 16211. The Meralco hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

To call the Meralco hotline using your Smart or Globe mobile number, dial (02) 16211. Airtime call charges may apply.

Upon calling the Meralco hotline, you will be prompted to press a number that corresponds to your specific concern:

  • Press 1 to report an outage or incident affecting your service.
  • Press 2 for billing and payment concerns.
  • Press 3 to know more about Meralco products, services and programs.
  • Press 4 for other concerns.

You may be asked to provide your complete name, contact number, and your 10-digit Meralco Customer Account Number (CAN) which is usually located at the upper portion of your bill.

Meralco business and corporate clients may call 16210.

Text the Meralco Mobile Numbers

If you can’t make a call, you can text your inquiries and concerns to Meralco instead. Here are the Meralco hotline cellphone numbers that you may send a text message to:

  • 09209716211 (Smart)
  • 09257716211 (Sun)
  • 09175516211 (Globe)

Take note that these mobile numbers are only for SMS or text messaging, not calls. Please do not call these numbers to request for assistance. You may call the Meralco hotline 16211 or (02) 16211 instead if you have an immediate concern or inquiry.

Chat with Meralco on Facebook

Meralco offers an easy and convenient way to address your concerns to them. Just go to the Meralco official Facebook page and click “Send message” to start chatting with their customer service team. Alternatively, you can open Messenger and search for “Meralco” to start chatting.

Your chat conversations will be answered by a chatbot, but you can talk to a live customer support agent by clicking “Chat with an Agent.” Be sure to have the following information ready because the agent may ask you about them:

  • 10-digit Customer Account Number (CAN)
  • Registered customer name
  • Nearest landmark
  • Contact number
  • Contact person

Email Meralco Customer Service

Prefer to send an email instead? You can email the Meralco customer service team at [email protected]. Be sure to include your complete name, contact number and 10-digit Customer Account Number (CAN) in your email.

Message Meralco on Twitter/X

If you’re a Twitter (now X) user, you can tweet your concerns and inquiries to the Meralco official Twitter account @meralco or send them a direct message (DM). For prompt assistance, you can send them a DM with your specific concerns along with your 10-digit Customer Account Number (CAN), complete name, and contact number.

Visit the Meralco Business Center

If all else fails, you can always visit the Meralco Business Center to personally speak to a customer service representative. A personal visit is preferred if you need help understanding your bill or if you want to settle service application charges.

But before you visit the Meralco Business Center, make sure that you have booked an online appointment beforehand. This ensures that transactions are conducted in a swift and orderly manner. To book an online appointment, visit the Meralco online appointment website and select your issue or concern.

Final Thoughts

As a Meralco customer, it’s good to know that you are not left in the dark as far as support and assistance are concerned. Even if you don’t have a telephone to call the Meralco hotline, you can still reach out to their customer service department via text, chat and email.

Be sure to be concise and direct when talking or writing to the customer support team, so that your questions and concerns will be answered and resolved in the quickest possible manner.
