You don’t have to be a techie or detective to track a Filipino phone number. Whether you want to locate someone in the Philippines, find own device, or track an unknown caller, there is a tracking tool for that.

The last one is the most important, as the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) reports that scam calls and SMS are an increasing danger. Just last year, Filipinos got more than 6 billion scam texts and around 600,000 scam calls.

So it’s essential to know how to track a phone number in the Philippines for safety. Good thing, there are free ways to do this – like using the “Free Phone Number Tracker Philippines” tool from HeyLocate.

Let’s get some detailed insights on how phone number tracking works and what you need to know.

Disclaimer: This article is for informational purposes only and does not promote or endorse illegal tracking of phone numbers. All methods discussed comply with Philippine data privacy laws, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Always obtain consent before attempting to locate a device or individual.

What to Know About Phone Tracking in the Philippines

Phone number tracking is made possible by the Global Positioning System (GPS) and location-based technologies. The Philippines has reliable GPS coverage in most areas. Big cities like Manila, Cebu, and Davao typically receive strong and stable signals.

Meanwhile, all modern smartphones have built-in GPS that is typically accurate within a 4.9-meter radius under open sky conditions. That’s why tracking a phone’s location is really possible anywhere in the country.

But it’s not only about location. Some trackers can even help you find out who owns the no. This has become possible due to the SIM Registration Law, which was passed in 2022 and now requires each SIM card to be registered with valid identification. It simplifies tracking a phone number’s owner in the Philippines.

Track Cell Phone Number Free of Charge With an Online Tracker

There are not so many Filipino mobile number trackers online that provide free information. But HeyLocate.mobi does. Its “Free Phone Number Tracker Philippines” service works online – no need to install or sign up – and it’s okay with any phone brand or local telco.

So, to track a cell phone number in the Philippines free of charge, just type the no. into the HeyLocate form (start with the +63) and tap ‘Search’.

The system will check the database and show you a detailed report with the country code, time zone, phone carrier, and area code, if there is one. It’s a helpful free tool, especially if you want to check where a suspicious no. is coming from.

Besides, the phone number tracking report offers options to track a phone’s live location and get complete insight, which is quite intriguing.

HeyLocate is a legally compliant tracking tool that operates within the framework of applicable laws. Its policies and principles strictly prohibit stalking, spying, contacting individuals without consent, or engaging in any unethical or illegal activities.

How to Track a Lost or Stolen Phone in the Philippines

Losing your phone is really stressful, but no need to worry. Most smartphones sold in the Philippines are equipped with an in-built locator.

If you have an Android phone, such as Oppo, Realme, or Vivo, try Google Find My Device to locate it. This feature is usually pre-installed and works in the background in cooperation with your Google Account.

Thus, when you can’t find your phone, go to the Find My Device website via another phone or PC.

Just log in with your Google account, and you’ll already see your phone’s location. You can make it ring, lock it, or even erase everything if needed.

Actually, it’s an effective way to track a lost Oppo or any other phone in the Philippines.

Contact Your Telco

If you can’t locate the mobile phone online, the next step would be to call your mobile network provider.

Globe Telecom users can call 211 or visit a store. You can ask for SIM blocking or tracking assistance.

If you are a user of Smart Communications, check their help page or call *888 for assistance on what to do next, including how to log an official report.

DITO Telecommunity’s help center has various options for connecting and helping with SIM deactivation and perhaps tracing your phone.

Note that you might be asked for your IMEI number – you can find it on the box that came with your device.

Track Phone Number With Location Sharing

You can ask someone to share their phone number’s location in the Philippines with Google Maps or any messenger. This option is in each app’s menu.

For example, open Google Maps, tap your profile picture, select “Location Sharing”, the period for sharing, and the contact to share with.

The same can be done via apps like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Viber. The person simply needs to tap on the + sign or paper plane icon and choose “Location” to send it to you.

See Live Location of a Phone Number Without Them Knowing

Let’s face it – if it’s an unknown number, they probably won’t send you their location. For that case, there is a phone number tracker like Scannero.io. It lets you send an anonymous message with a tracking link. You get their live location when a person behind that mobile number clicks on it.

If the caller didn’t say who they were, you also have the right not to show your info if you want to track them quietly.

Besides, try the Reverse Phone Lookup feature of Scannero – it can reveal the name and the spam score of a phone no.
