There are times when you cannot go to a local remittance center to send money to your loved ones back home. What you can do instead is to use your BDO bank account to transfer the money and then your recipient can claim it at Palawan Pawnshop, MLhuillier, Cebuana Lhuillier and other money remittance outlets. That is all possible with BDO Remit and BDO Cash Pick-up.

BDO Remit is an international money remittance service by BDO Unibank in collaboration with thousands of remittance partners worldwide. With BDO Remit, you can send money from your BDO bank account or a BDO partner office and have it picked up at any BDO branch or at a local remittance center in the Philippines. BDO Remit has several offices in the Middle East, Europe, North America and other parts of Asia, where OFWs can send money to their families and loved ones in the Philippines.

What we’ll be teaching you is how to send money from your BDO account to a local remittance center such as Palawan Pawnshop and Cebuana Lhuillier. You don’t have to go to a BDO branch to do so; all you need is a BDO online banking account and a computer or smartphone with Internet access. After sending the money from your BDO online banking account, your recipient can then claim the money at the nearest remittance outlet.

In this article, we’ll teach you how to perform a BDO Cash Pick-up transaction via your BDO online banking account. Make sure that you already have a BDO online banking account. If not, you can enroll your bank account here.

First, log in to your BDO online banking account on your web browser. Enter the one-time password (OTP) when prompted.

On the menu on the left side of the page, click “Send Money” and then click “For Cash Pick-up at any BDO Branch/Partner.”

Your send money request is now being processed. Copy the reference number and give it to your recipient, which he will use for claiming the money at the remittance center you selected. If you don’t see the reference number in the app, just check the email that was sent to you by BDO.

How to Claim the Money

For your recipient to claim the money, he or she must go to the remittance center based on the transaction type you selected. For example, if you selected “Pick up Cash Anywhere,” then the receiver can pick up the money at a Palawan Pawnshop, RD Pawnshop or Villarica Pawnshop branch.

  1. Go to the BDO Cash Pick-up partner or money remittance outlet.
  2. Fill up the Receive Money Form with the following details:
    • Sender’s name
    • Sender’s mobile number
    • Receiver’s name
    • Receiver’s mobile number
    • Reference number
    • Amount of remittance
  3. Give the duly-accomplished Receive Money Form to the cashier along with your valid ID.
  4. Claim your money, ID and copy of the computer-generated form.
  5. Count your money before leaving.

Take note that Palawan Express Pera Padala is different from Palawan Pawnshop and is not a BDO Cash Pick-up location.

Did This Help You?

We hope that this article helped you in sending money from your BDO bank account to Palawan Pawnshop, Cebuana Lhuillier, MLhuillier and other local money remittance centers. The downside is that it takes up to 3 days for the money to be ready for pick up. If you want a quicker way to receive money, you may want to consider transferring money to another bank via InstaPay. You can also use Coins.ph to send money online to a money remittance outlet.
