The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said eligible Group 3 beneficiaries of the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) assistance are expected to receive their next tranche of cash aid on Friday, October 16.
Group 3 covers low-income members of the Social Security System (SSS). DSWD spokesperson Asst. Secretary Irene Dumlao made the announcement on Wednesday, October 7.
Eligibility conditions
Dumlao said beneficiaries will receive the payment as long as they continue to meet the program criteria. Beneficiaries may be removed from the list if they no longer qualify or if records show they are also a beneficiary in another group.
“Matatanggap po ang next tranche for as long as na-meet pa rin ang criteria ng pagiging beneficiaries. Maaari lang pong ma-delist kung hindi na qualified or nakita sa record na beneficiary din sila sa ibang group,” Dumlao pointed out.
Newly identified beneficiaries
In coordination with the SSS, 265,795 newly identified UPLIFT Group 3 beneficiaries are also expected to receive their cash aid on October 16. These beneficiaries received a notification from the SSS and updated their Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM) on or before October 5. They will receive both Tranche 1 and Tranche 2 on that date.
Dumlao said updating the DAEM is needed to prevent unsuccessful crediting of the aid. She said invalid or dormant accounts in the DAEM caused earlier delays for some beneficiaries.
Warning against scams
The DSWD also urged the public to rely only on official announcements from the DSWD and the SSS about UPLIFT assistance. The agency said this is meant to prevent scammers and unauthorized parties from obtaining sensitive personal information.
Payout figures and program background
As of the DSWD’s October 7 statement, 865,971 low-income SSS members had received their cash aid through their registered disbursement accounts.
Under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., UPLIFT Assistance provides targeted cash grants to low-income Filipino families. The grants are meant to ease the financial burden caused by inflation and rising fuel costs.
Beneficiaries with questions about their status or DAEM enrollment may check the My.SSS app, which the DSWD named as the channel for official communication.
