Grab Philippines, a leading superapp, has officially launched its Green Programme, strengthening its pledge to environmental sustainability. The initiative adds an optional feature to Grab’s ride-hailing and delivery services, enabling users to support conservation efforts with partners such as Fostering Education & Environment for Development, Inc. (FEED), EcoMatcher Ltd, and the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary Project.
Through the Green Programme, users can contribute to eco-friendly causes with minimal effort. Each GrabCar or GrabTaxi ride offers the option to donate ₱2.00, while GrabFood or GrabMart orders allow a ₱1.00 contribution.

Activating the feature is straightforward: users can go to “Account,” select “Support the Environment,” and toggle it on or off. For rides, the option also appears in the three-dot menu on the booking screen, with the flexibility to opt out anytime.

A central component of the program is a mangrove-planting effort in Dulao Village, La Union, undertaken with local farmers and residents. Partnering with FEED – a Philippine NGO dedicated to education and reforestation – and EcoMatcher, this project seeks to restore biodiversity and safeguard ecosystems nationwide.
“In line with our ongoing commitment towards nation-building, Grab is focused on leveraging its tech and platform to cultivate a deep sense of sustainability and care for the environment across communities here in the Philippines,” said Greg Camacho, Director for Strategy at Grab Philippines. “We are thankful for the outpouring support of our kababayans on the launch of this program, and we will continuously innovate and explore new pathways to make our services greener and reduce our carbon footprint, nurturing a sustainable future for every rider, driver, passenger, and consumer in the Grab superapp community.”
On a regional scale, the Green Programme supports the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary Project, which adheres to Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) standards. This initiative protects nearly 300,000 hectares of ecosystems and 75 threatened species.
The Green Programme complements Grab’s existing sustainability efforts, such as allowing customers to waive plastic cutlery in food deliveries, partnering with BYD to supply electric vehicles to driver-partners across Southeast Asia, and teaming up with Starbucks for the FoodShare Program. The latter uses Grab’s delivery network to redistribute unsold Starbucks food to nonprofits like the Philippine Food Bank Foundation.
With this initiative, Grab Philippines advances its leadership in sustainable urban mobility and delivery, and makes it easy for users to embrace eco-conscious decisions.
