The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) formally launched the NBI eClearance service on the eGovPH Super App on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the NBI headquarters in Pasay City. First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos led the launch ceremony, joined by DICT Secretary Henry Aguda, NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag, DICT Undersecretary David Almirol Jr., and NBI Deputy Director Antonio Pagatpat.
Through the integration, verified eGovPH Super App users can renew their NBI clearances online without visiting NBI offices, retrieve their clearance, and access a digital copy of the renewed document. NBI officials said that renewal can now be completed in as little as five minutes. The service currently covers renewals only; first-time applicants must still visit an NBI office for biometric capture before a clearance can be issued.
Under the standard NBI process before this integration, renewal applicants who wanted a physical copy had to line up at an NBI Clearance Center or satellite office and wait for release on a scheduled date. The new online option removes that step for eligible renewals, allowing applicants to complete payment and request delivery or pickup from their phones.
The base NBI Clearance fee remains at ₱130. Applicants who choose pickup at an NBI Clearance Center pay a ₱30 convenience fee, bringing the total to ₱160, while those who opt for door-to-door delivery pay an additional delivery fee that varies by location. The eGovPH Super App accepts multiple payment options for the transaction.
Matibag credited the project’s success to the collaboration between the NBI and DICT, saying the interoperability between the eGovPH Super App and the NBI Clearance System shows how technology can improve the delivery of public services while protecting the security and integrity of government systems.
The rollout adds to a growing list of functions on the eGovPH Super App, which already covers eTravel pass issuance, SIM registration, and access to digital government IDs. Officials have positioned the app as the main channel for consolidating frequently requested government transactions into a single mobile platform.
Renewal applicants can access the NBI eClearance feature by logging into a verified eGovPH Super App account and selecting the NBI Clearance option under government services. The NBI and DICT have not announced a timeline for extending the fully online process to first-time applicants.
