More than 978,000 low-income members of the Social Security System (SSS) have received the ₱2,000 Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Assistance, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) confirmed on August 3.
DSWD Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Irene Dumlao said the figure covers Group 3 beneficiaries of the UPLIFT program, which was ordered by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as a relief measure for households affected by the energy emergency and rising commodity prices. Dumlao made the announcement in an interview on PTV4’s Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon.
Group 3 is limited to employed SSS members with a Monthly Salary Credit (MSC) below ₱20,000, at least one posted contribution in 2025 or 2026, and an active SSS disbursement account. “Nasa mahigit 978,000 po na mga households na ang naka-receive ng kanilang Php2,000 UPLIFT assistance,” Dumlao said, describing the criteria for this group.
Group 3 beneficiaries receive ₱2,000 monthly for six consecutive months, from July to December, for a total of ₱12,000. SSS handles the disbursement directly, crediting the registered bank or e-wallet accounts on file rather than requiring beneficiaries to file a separate claim.
Dumlao added that as of the morning of August 3, more than 4.4 million households nationwide had received their ₱2,000 UPLIFT payment for July across all beneficiary categories. This includes over 2.8 million Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) households and more than 214,000 Walang Gutom Program beneficiaries under Group 1.
How to Know If You Qualify for UPLIFT and How to Avail
UPLIFT beneficiaries are sorted into three groups, and eligibility differs for each:
Group 1 covers existing 4Ps and Walang Gutom Program beneficiaries. These households are already enrolled in DSWD’s social protection database and receive a one-time ₱2,000 grant.
Group 2 covers poor and near-poor households identified through the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS). More than 417,000 households under this group have already received assistance, paid monthly for six months.
Group 3 covers employed, low-income SSS members. To qualify, a member must have an MSC below ₱20,000, at least one SSS contribution posted in 2025 or 2026, and an enrolled SSS disbursement account. DSWD matches SSS’s individual member records against CBMS household data, and only one member per household – typically the oldest qualified member – receives the payout.
There is no separate application form for any of the three groups. Beneficiaries are identified automatically through existing government and SSS records, and funds are credited straight to the registered account.
To check status under Group 3, members can log in to the My.SSS portal and look for a notification labeled “Wage Subsidy Program” in the notification bell – the internal label SSS uses for UPLIFT Group 3 crediting. Members can also check the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM) to confirm which account SSS has on file, since this determines whether a credit can be released at all.
DSWD has reiterated that it does not send text messages asking beneficiaries to click links or share one-time PINs regarding UPLIFT. Any message requesting such information should be treated as fraudulent.
