Gaming and social media have become a widespread hobby in the Philippines. Many young people have even established a following to which they promote affiliate products. Read on to learn more about some of the top Filipino streamers.

What are Gaming Influencers?

Gaming Influencers are content creators who promote products to their followers. Unlike regular influencers, these are focused on gaming, streaming games, and making playthrough videos. Some of their common activities include:

  • Doing a walkthrough of a new game
  • Speedrunning various games
  • Participating in and promoting tournaments
  • Talking about the features of a game
  • Interviewing developers

Each influencer has their preferred game types, some focusing on horror games, while others prefer PVP online titles. They even sometimes promote games similar to real money online slot machines in the Philippines at reputable online slot casinos. Companies contact them to promote various products.

What do Gaming Influencers Promote?

The best gaming influencers promote various products, usually related to videogames. Developers pay them to promote their latest titles, although manufacturers like Razer sometimes offer a general sponsorship. Some of the other products they promote include:

  • Launch day of a game
  • Sneak peek of upcoming titles
  • Tournaments
  • Early access previews

There are more than 43 million gamers in the Philippines, which means Filipino influencers have significant outreach. As the nation’s online gaming market continues to grow with a projected revenue of PHP 1.5 billion in 2025, it’s no surprise many people are interested in becoming influencers.

Akosi Dogie

Akosi Dogie is another popular gaming influencer who started his career by playing Mobile Legends with a talking dog avatar. Eventually, he would do a face reveal and focus on making vlogs where he reviews tech like iPhones. He livestreams Mobile Legends tournaments and even interviews players from eSports teams.

GLOCO

Gian Lois Concepcion (GLOCO) is a popular gaming influencer with over a million subscribers on his main channel. Unlike the previous influencers, he uploads almost daily and focuses on playthrough videos. His content is focused mainly on horror and indie games, though he also plays popular titles, such as:

  • Repo

  • Until Then
  • Monster Hunter Wilds
  • Strinova

Outside of gaming, GLOCO also enjoys fishing and doing cosplay. He also sometimes makes videos of his holiday trips or unboxing merchandise. GLOCO also often promotes new games by trying them in his videos or documenting visits to themed events.

Future of Gaming Influencers

Videogames and eSports have become their own media branch, which people enjoy worldwide. Streaming sites like Twitch and YouTube provide excellent platforms for such communities, and many eSports players get sponsorships, similar to regular athletes. The number of gaming influencers will likely increase, and the content will change.
