BIR Digital TIN ID now accessible via eGovPH mobile app

Filipino taxpayers no longer need to pull up a separate website to show their TIN ID. Starting today, April 24, 2026, the Digital TIN ID is available right inside the eGovPH app.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) announced that taxpayers can now access their Digital TIN ID through the eGovPH App, specifically through its Mobile ID Wallet feature. It’s a convenience upgrade for Filipinos who already have a Digital TIN ID on file – your official tax ID is now one app away, alongside other government services.

There’s an important detail to keep in mind, though: the eGovPH app doesn’t replace the registration process. You still need to get your Digital TIN ID through the BIR’s Online Registration and Update System (ORUS) at orus.bir.gov.ph. The eGovPH app only gives you a way to access and carry it digitally once it’s already been issued.

Two groups of taxpayers qualify to access the Digital TIN ID through the app: those who got their Digital TIN ID through ORUS, and existing TIN holders whose profile details match their eGovPH registration. That second group is key – if you already have a TIN but got it the old-fashioned way, you may still qualify as long as your registered details line up.

BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza described the rollout as “another step in expanding digital access to BIR services and in making public services more convenient and accessible through the eGovPH App.”

The eGovPH app, developed by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), is designed to bring national and local government services into a single platform. To verify your identity and protect taxpayer data, it uses an electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) process that includes facial recognition, so expect to go through that step when setting up your Mobile ID Wallet.

If you haven’t downloaded the eGovPH app yet, it’s available on both Android and iOS. Just make sure your BIR ORUS profile is updated and your details match your eGovPH registration before trying to access your Digital TIN ID through the wallet.
