DITO Telecommunity took the most awards in Opensignal’s Philippine Mobile Network Experience Report for July 2026, winning eight of the report’s categories outright or jointly, including download speed, upload speed, and network reliability.

The report measures real-world performance across DITO, Globe, and Smart over a 90-day period from April 1 to June 29, 2026.

Of DITO’s eight awards, six were sole wins. The operator posted the fastest upload and download speeds, the most reliable network, and the highest share of time connected overall and on 5G. Its Reliability score of 838, on a 100-to-1,000-point scale, edged out Globe’s 833 and Smart’s 816 – even after falling 10 points from the prior report. Globe’s score, by contrast, climbed 72 points; Smart’s rose four.

DITO’s Time on 5G award came in at 33.8 percent, about 19 percentage points clear of Globe and Smart, which were statistically tied between 14.9 and 15.3 percent. The metric tracks how often 5G-capable phones actually stay on a 5G connection rather than dropping to 4G.

Smart, meanwhile, kept its grip on the categories tied most directly to app performance: Games Experience (72 points), 5G Games Experience, Voice App Experience (79.6 points), and 5G Voice App Experience. It shared Video Experience and 5G Video Experience with DITO. Its only setback was Upload Speed, which DITO took this round.

Globe held onto Coverage Experience for a fifth straight report, scoring 7.4 out of 10. It also unseated DITO in Consistent Quality – the one category that changed hands this cycle.

Opensignal published the report as the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center confirmed the Philippines will shut down all remaining 3G networks by December 31, 2026. Officials pointed to security risks in aging 3G infrastructure, including IMSI catcher devices that can intercept signals for phishing, as the reason for pushing subscribers onto 4G and 5G.

The full breakdown by category is available on Opensignal’s website.
