GoTyme partners with PSA for faster, real-time National ID onboarding

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has integrated its National ID Authentication Services (NIDAS) with GoTyme Bank Corp., allowing the digital bank to verify customer identities in real time using the National ID during account opening.

For Filipino account holders, the integration means faster verification when signing up through GoTyme’s mobile app or its physical kiosks, whether they present a Digital National ID or the paper version. The move adds to a growing list of Philippine banks and fintech platforms tying their onboarding systems directly to the PSA’s identity database, part of a broader government push to widen access to formal banking through the National ID.

The partnership was formalized during a signing ceremony in Quezon City on July 3, 2026. PSA officials at the event were led by Assistant Secretary Rosalinda P. Bautista, Deputy National Statistician of the PhilSys Registry Office, who represented Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General. She was joined by Assistant National Statistician Marela Lovely Y. Andres of the Registrations and Operations Service. GoTyme Bank’s delegation was led by Chief Strategy Officer Shern Whey Teo, with Chief Information Officer Maria Paz Gilda Puno and Chief Marketing Officer Cathriona Nolan.

GoTyme Bank also disclosed during the ceremony that it has passed the 10-million customer mark, with more than half of its monthly account openings now involving the National ID.

Bautista credited GoTyme for how it has used technology to widen access to banking services. “As one of the country’s leading digital banks, GoTyme has demonstrated how technology can make financial services more accessible and responsive to the needs of Filipinos. Through this integration, GoTyme strengthens its ability to provide a seamless and secure customer experience, while contributing to the broader goal of expanding financial inclusion,” she said.

Teo framed the National ID system as infrastructure for the country’s digital economy rather than a standard government project. “What PSA has built with the National ID isn’t just a government project. It is nation-building,” he said. He added: “Today, over 90 million Filipinos already hold the most powerful key to financial access this country has ever created through the National ID. Our responsibility is to make sure that key opens doors: to a bank account, to savings, to credit, and ultimately, to greater financial freedom.”

Puno said the integration was intended to cut friction in the sign-up process without weakening security checks. “Our decision to partner with the PSA has been deliberate and intentional because we wanted to reduce onboarding friction and at the same time, make our own boarding more secure and fast for our customers,” she said.

The PSA said it continues to encourage other private institutions and organizations to integrate with NIDAS to verify identities through the National ID. Financial institutions interested in onboarding with the system may contact the PSA at [email protected].
