What is the Desert Treasure Quest
The Desert Treasure Quest is part of the Mahjarrat Quest series, which is the seventh entry. The mission is ranked as a Master-tier difficulty task with a long completion time. It has a long list of conditions you must complete before doing the quests. These requirements take some time to satisfy, so you must prepare and spend lots of OSRS gold. Aside from these conditions, you must ensure that you are at least 70+ Combat Level because the quests involve a lot of fighting. You will be engaging in many boss-level battles, each featuring different mechanics. Here are some helpful items you can bring to the fight:
- Stamina/Energy Potions
- Prayer Potions
- Super Restore Potions
- Antipoisons
- Ice Gloves
- High Healing Food
- Teleport Options
These consumables are required to defeat the many NPCs you’ll encounter. Ensure you have OSRS gold to spare for an ample supply.
How Do You Start the Quest
As mentioned earlier, you must complete certain conditions before starting the quest. Once satisfied, you can head to the Bedabin Camp and speak to Asgarnia Smith. This will jumpstart the whole quest sequence, beginning with the Mirrors.
Which NPCs Do You Need to Fight
You’ll fight several bosses with various different mechanics. You’ll duel each of them in various stages of the quest, and you’ll need to adjust your gear and consumables accordingly. Here are all the bosses you need to fight to complete the quest:
- Ice Troll x5 (Lvl 120 to 124)
- Dessous (Lvl 139)
- Kamil (Lvl 154)
- Fareed (Lvl 167)
- Damis (Lvl 103 then Lvl 174)
Ice Trolls are easy enough, but be sure to deal with them quickly since the tides will turn in their favor the longer the battle drags on. Meanwhile, Dessous can be dealt with quickly as long as you bring enough food. Kamil requires several HP potions to recover from the damage you’ll receive from being constantly frozen; While Fareed is doable if you have Protect, Ice Gloves, and Water Spells. Finally, Damis is the hardest one because he has two phases, so you’ll need to bring a lot of HP recovery for the prolonged fight.
How Many Sections Does this Quest Have
It’s a long quest chain, and each section has a long completion time. There are six stages total in the Desert Treasure mission, and most require you to retrieve certain items after performing a series of tasks. Here are all the sections of this fight:
- Starting the Quest and Enchanting the Mirrors
- Retrieving the Smoke Diamond
- Retrieving the Shadow Diamond

Players should take time to recuperate and change gear after each section to increase their chances of successfully finishing their tasks.
