The release of the second tranche of the ₱2,000 UPLIFT assistance has been delayed, SSS Legazpi spokesperson Jeannette Mapa confirmed in an interview with DZGB News. Mapa said qualified beneficiaries will still receive the aid.
Mapa also said SSS members must make sure they have enrolled their disbursement accounts. The reason for the delay was discussed in the DZGB News interview.
UPLIFT stands for Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport. The national government set it up through an executive order in March 2026 in response to higher fuel prices linked to the Middle East conflict. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. later announced an expanded program covering 7.5 million households in three beneficiary groups, which the DSWD and SSS manage together.
SSS members fall under Group 3, which covers about 1.5 million low-income workers. Qualified members receive ₱2,000 a month from July to December 2026, or up to ₱12,000 in total.
Eric Coronado, acting head of the SSS Visayas Central 1 Division, said Group 3 beneficiaries are employed members with at least one monthly contribution in 2025 or 2026 and a monthly salary credit of ₱20,000 or below. The DSWD matched SSS data against the Community-Based Monitoring System database to identify qualified members. Only one member per household qualifies, and the aid goes to the oldest account holder.
The assistance is credited directly to the member’s enrolled SSS disbursement account, so Group 3 members do not need to go to payout venues. On August 3, the DSWD reported that more than 978,000 Group 3 members had received the ₱2,000. Across all three groups, more than 4.4 million households had been paid for July.
The DSWD’s Adonis Sulit has said some low-income members still have no disbursement account, and urged them to register as soon as possible. SSS Senior Communications Analyst Sherwin Dan Solibaga II has encouraged members to keep their email address, mobile number, and disbursement account updated through the My.SSS portal.
DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao said the aid is funded by the DSWD’s budget and is not deducted from members’ SSS contributions.
The available information does not include a new release date for the second tranche. Members can check the My.SSS portal for notifications and their registered disbursement account.
