Maybe you want to buy a pretty pair of shoes on Shopee but you don’t have enough money to pay for it right now. Then why not buy it now and just pay it later? Thanks to GCash and GCredit, you can shop at Shopee and pay for your orders at a later date.
GCredit is a trust-based personal credit line available to qualified GCash users. It offers short-term loans to individuals who have achieved a high enough GScore, which is a trust rating based on the number and volume of a user’s GCash transactions. With GCredit, you can borrow amounts up to ₱30,000 (the maximum credit limit). The higher your GScore, the bigger your credit limit will be.
GCredit can be used to pay bills and shop at business establishments that accept GCash payments via QR code. It wasn’t possible to use GCredit for online shopping – until now. You can now order anything on Shopee and pay for it using your GCredit balance. So even if you don’t have enough money in GCash, you can just use your GCredit balance and pay for your Shopee orders straight away.
This is definitely exciting news for Shopee users who want to buy something but may not have enough cash at the moment. Instead of borrowing GCash funds from a friend or whipping out your credit card, you can pay using GCredit. But keep in mind that GCredit loans are short-term and due in 45 days, so pay your loan as soon as possible or on your next salary in order to avoid costly penalties.
In this article, we’ll teach you how to use GCredit to pay for your Shopee order so that you don’t have to cash-in from your bank account or top up your ShopeePay wallet. How to Pay in Shopee Using GCredit
Before you proceed, make sure that you have an active GCredit account and that your total order amount is not larger than your available credit limit. You can check your available credit limit by tapping Manage Credit in the GCash app.
Step 1: Choose GCash as the payment option
This article assumes that you have already checked out your order. If you haven’t checked out your order yet, add the item to your shopping cart and tap “Check Out.”
On the checkout screen in the Shopee app, scroll down to Payment Option and tap it.
On the list of payment methods, tap Payment Center / e-Wallet and then select GCash. Tap “CONFIRM.”
Review your payment details and make sure that GCash was selected as the payment option. Tap “Place Order” to proceed.
Confirm that the total payment amount and your email address are correct, and tap “Pay.”
Step 2: Login to your GCash account
Now it’s time to login to your GCash account to complete the purchase. You don’t need to open the GCash app for this purpose.
Enter your GCash mobile number (if it’s not pre-filled), and tap “NEXT.”
A 6-digit authentication code will be sent to your mobile number. Enter that code and press “NEXT.”
Step 3: Select GCredit as payment source
Enter your 4-digit GCash MPIN and tap “NEXT.”
You are presented with two funding sources, GCash and GCredit, along with their available balance and credit, respectively. Choose GCredit.
If your total order amount is larger than your available credit, GCredit cannot be chosen as the funding source. In that case, you can either pay using your GCash balance or go back to Shopee to update your order.
Step 4: Pay for your Shopee order
Review the total amount and make sure that GCredit is chosen, and then tap the “PAY” button.
Wait for the payment process to complete, which will take a few seconds. Don’t close the app or click the back button.
Congratulations! You have successfully paid for your Shopee order using GCredit. You will receive an email from Dragonpay confirming your successful payment.
You can also check your GCredit balance in the GCash app by going to “Manage Credit.” There you can view your used and remaining credits as well as your billing details.
Final Words
Should you decide to use GCredit to pay for your Shopee orders, make it a point to pay off your loan at the soonest possible time. By paying your GCredit loan early, you will minimize your interest fees and avoid possible penalties. Remember, you have up to 45 days to settle your loan dues, after which, you will be charged penalties until you pay off your loan completely.
It’s nice to know that you can buy anything on Shopee and pay for it later, thanks to GCredit. It’s like having your own credit card but without the annual fees. The downside is that it has a relatively low credit limit and short payment schedule, but otherwise, it’s a great option for times when budgets are tight.
