Wordle has taken the world by storm, with millions of people playing the game daily. Although the game is pretty simple, guessing the mystery word can be mentally challenging. That’s why some players rely on Wordle solvers to guess the correct answer and maintain their winning streak.
Some people frown upon the use of Wordle solvers, considering it a form of “cheating.” We beg to disagree, however. Looking up the answer is cheating, but searching for hints and clues is not. There’s no harm in using a Wordle solver to help you solve the puzzle, since you still have to think of and guess the mystery word. It’s quite different from Googling the Wordle answer outright.
Nevertheless, it’s definitely more fun to play the game without any external assistance. But if you’re in a tight spot and running out of guesses, it’s a good idea to use a Wordle solver to keep your winning streak going. It’s a great way to learn new words and expand your vocabulary, too!
How to Use the Wordle Solver
Using the Wordle solver and helper tool is quite easy. Just follow these steps:
- Type the correct letters that you guessed in the green 🟩 boxes in their exact spots or locations. For example, if your guess is “AUDIO” and the correct letter is “O”, then place “O” in the last or fifth box.
- Next, type the valid letters in the yellow 🟨 box. These are letters that appear in the mystery word but are in the wrong location.
- Finally, type the bad letters in the gray ⬜ box. These are letters that don’t appear anywhere in the answer.
- The Wordle solver will instantly display the possible words to help you arrive at the correct answer.
Our Wordle solver uses the official vocabulary of words from the Wordle website itself. Wordle actually allows you to guess non-answer words such as “JESUS” but we decided not to include these words so as not to waste your time and your limited number of guesses.
What is Wordle?
Before we begin, we’d like to take a moment to provide some background information about Wordle. We find that in order to succeed at a game, it’s helpful to have some basic information about that game.
Wordle was developed by Josh Wardle, a software engineer from Britain, and in 2022, it was introduced via social media. As soon as the game came onto the scene, it instantly piqued the curiosity of millions, and people started playing it in droves.
The simplistic, welcoming design, coupled with squares of yellow, green, and gray that started showing up all over Facebook, Twitter, and many other social media platforms, was extremely attention grabbing and added to the appeal. In fact, the game became so popular so quickly that The New York Times bought it from Wardle, the developer, soon after it was introduced.
How to Play Wordle
In this game, players are challenged to figure out a secret five-letter word using no more than a total of six guesses, cracking scrambled-up letters as you move along. That’s the general gist of the game, anyway.
The actual instructions really are just as simple. First, you type in any five-letter word you’d like. Any letters that appear in the green boxes appear in the mystery word, in the position they’re presented, while yellow letters are also in the mystery word, but they’re not properly positioned. Any letters in the dark gray boxes are not part of the mystery word.
Using the letters in the green, yellow, and gray boxes, you need to guess another five-letter word. You’ll continue the process of entering new words until you either guess the mystery word or you use up your six guesses; whichever one comes first.
The game is quite basic, and it’s actually the basic nature of the game that makes it so captivating. It’s also what can make figuring out the answer quite challenging.
Wordle Tips and Tricks
When you first start playing Wordle, it totally feels sort of random and confusing; however, there are some tricks and strategies that you can use to develop a strategy and figure out the mystery word every day.
Some of the most common letters featured in the Wordle mystery word include letters that are used in other popular word-guessing games. You should always try vowels – A, E, I, O, U – in your first few guesses, as well as commonly used consonants, such as N, L, R, S, and T.
Here are a few tips and strategies to help you ace Wordle:
- Start with the vowels. Most words contain vowels (A, E, I, O, and U), so we recommend using as many of them as possible in your first few guesses. Ideally, you should start with a word that has 2 or 3 vowels such as “AUDIO” or “QUIET.”
- Use common consonants. The most common consonants, according to Reader’s Digest, are R, T, N, S, and L. Try using these consonants along with any of the 5 vowels to improve your chances of guessing the mystery word.
- Avoid less commonly used letters. Rarely used consonant letters such as Q, X, and Z don’t feature often in Wordle answers, so it’s safe to avoid them.
- Don’t repeat the wrong letters. Incorrect letters that won’t appear in the mystery word should be immediately disregarded and not repeated in subsequent guesses. However, you can reuse these letters if you can’t think of any other word and you want to narrow down your choices.
- Avoid using plural words. There are no plural words ending in “S” in the Wordle vocabulary, so don’t use them. Plural nouns without the “S” suffix (such as “TEETH” and “GEESE”) can be used though.
- Use a Wordle solver! If all else fails, you can rely on our simple Wordle solver and helper tool to find the correct answer. It’s like a cheat code that gives you an unfair advantage in Wordle!
