If you’re an SSS member, you might have availed of a calamity or salary loan in the past. Paying your loan usually involves visiting an SSS branch or payment partner. But the good news is that you can now pay your SSS loan online, using only your computer or smartphone!
The Social Security System (SSS) has announced that the payment of loans is now possible under the Real-Time Processing of Loans (RTPL) system. The SSS member can pay his loan dues by using a payment reference number (PRN) and then paying at an SSS branch or payment collection partner.
The implementation of the use of PRN for SSS loan payments was started on November 9, 2020. Members with outstanding loan obligations will receive a loan billing with PRN which will be sent to their registered email addresses and mobile numbers.
The PRN is available for all short-term member loan types such as salary loan, calamity loan, emergency loan and loan restructuring. The Educational Loan Assistance Program (ELAP) will not yet implement PRN-based payments until further notice.
The use of the PRN of SSS loan payments will be mandatory on February 1, 2021. However, the SSS will still accept non-PRN loan payments until January 31, 2021.
So if you are an SSS individual member who wants to pay your SSS loan online, we’ve come up with this tutorial to help you in paying your loan dues through the Internet. Take note that this article is for self-employed or voluntary SSS members only. Loan payments for employees will be handled by their employers through the employer’s My.SSS account.
How to Get PRN for SSS Loan Payment
The payment reference number for loans is a system-generated number that corresponds to the loan billing statement of an SSS member or employer. As part of the Real-Time Processing of Loans (RTPL) program, the use of the PRN will ensure the immediate and correct posting of loan payments to the corresponding loan account.
As previously mentioned, SSS members with outstanding loan obligations will receive a loan billing statement via email or SMS that includes the payment reference number (PRN). If you didn’t receive the loan billing statement or if you accidentally deleted it, you can get the PRN from your My.SSS account.
The first step is to open the SSS website and then click the “MEMBER” button. You can also go directly to the member login page.
Enter your My.SSS user ID and password. Solve the captcha (“I’m not a robot”) and click “Submit.”
Once logged in to your My.SSS account, click the “RTPL PRN” link on the menu as shown on the screenshot below.

You can now see the payment reference number for your SSS loan as well as corresponding information like loan type, loan date, outstanding balance, amount due, and the amount to be paid.

To print your PRN, click the “PRN” button under the “ACTION” column. However, you don’t need to print the PRN in order to pay your SSS loan online. You only need a printed copy when paying at the SSS branch or SSS accredited payment partner. Make sure to print two copies – one for the payor and one for the SSS.

You can also click “SOA” to view your statement of account that contains a breakdown of your outstanding loan balance.
Remember that you must use the PRN on or before the due date. You can still use a PRN after its due date as long as the new PRN for the recent billing month is not yet generated. However, there will be a corresponding penalty. The new PRN will be generated on the 1st until the 6th day of the month following the billing month. For example, the PRN for November 2020 will be generated on December 1-6, 2020.
One expired, the PRN will no longer be accepted for payment. The member must use the new PRN containing the past due and current due amounts.
How to Modify Loan Payment Amount
Let’s say that you’re strapped for cash and you can only pay a fraction of the amount due. Thankfully, SSS allows you to pay an amount lower than the amount due but cannot be greater than the outstanding balance.
To modify the payment amount, go to “RTPL PRN.”
Under the “AMOUNT TO BE PAID” column, click the field and then enter the new amount. The new amount must not be greater than the amount due.
After entering the new amount, click “SAVE ALL.”

You can now pay your desired amount using the same PRN. Be sure to settle the remaining amount due before the due date to avoid penalties.

How to Pay Your SSS Loan Online Using Moneygment App
At the moment, it’s not yet possible to pay your SSS loan online using your PRN. The SSS is currently working with their online collection partners to implement PRN-based payments for loans. However, you can still pay your SSS loan online using a mobile wallet app called Moneygment. You don’t need a PRN for this payment.
You must have a verified Moneygment account and have the mobile app installed on your phone. You can download the app from Google Play or the App Store.
After opening a Moneygment account, be sure to complete your profile by going to “My Profile.” Enter your account numbers including SSS.
Open the Moneygment app and tap “Pay Pag-IBIG, Philhealth & SSS.”
On the bottom tab, select “SSS.”
Enter or select the following details:
- SSS Payment – Choose either “Real Estate Loan” or “Salary Loan.” SSS calamity loan payment is not yet available.
- SSS Number – This is already filled up from your profile.
- Payor Type – Choose “Individual.”
- Applicable Month – Moneygment can only process payment for the current applicable month. To pay for previous applicable months, just pay in excess and it will be deducted from the principal amount.
- Amount – Take note of the ₱25 transaction fee.
Review your payment details and press “Submit.”

Enter the one-time PIN that was sent to your registered number and click “Submit.”
You will receive a confirmation email with the details of your SSS loan payment.

Once your loan payment is posted to your account, you will receive another email from Moneygment confirming the successful payment.
