PhilHealth is definitely an important part of ordinary Filipinos’ lives. As the popular Filipino slogan goes, “Bawal magkasakit” (Getting sick is forbidden). If or when you get sick, you might have trouble paying your medical bills especially if you’re not a PhilHealth member.

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is a governmental health care program that provides social health insurance coverage to Filipinos. PhilHealth provides medical and health assistance to qualified beneficiaries and their dependents.

The agency entitles its beneficiaries and dependents to inpatient and outpatient services in accredited hospitals and facilities. This means that in case you have a medical emergency, PhilHealth will shoulder some of the costs associated with your treatment.

In the past, you had to personally visit a PhilHealth agency or office to apply for membership. But thanks to the wonders of the Internet, you can now apply for a PhilHealth membership in the comfort and convenience of your home.

In this short tutorial, I will teach you the basics of PhilHealth online registration so that you will become a qualified and full-fledged PhilHealth member.

How to Get Your PhilHealth Number Online

The PhilHealth online registration system is an easy and convenient way to register as a PhilHealth member. Using only a computer or mobile device, you can submit your PhilHealth online application at home or anywhere you have Internet access. No need to go to a PhilHealth office and submit a PhilHealth Member Registration Form (PMRF) in person.

Through the PhilHealth online registration system, you can fill out your personal information and those of your dependents, and attach your supporting documents. Everything will be done online.

The following persons are eligible to register for PhilHealth:

  • Employed individuals,
  • Self-employed (professional and non-professional),
  • Overseas Filipino workers (OFW), or
  • Retirees in the government and private sectors.

PhilHealth Online Registration Procedure

The PhilHealth online registration process is easy and straightforward. Here is the step-by-step guide to register as a PhilHealth member, including screenshot photos:

Step 1: Go to the PhilHealth website and click the Online Services link. Alternatively, you can go straight to the PhilHealth Electronic Registration System at https://eregister.philhealth.gov.ph (skip to step 3 in that case).

Step 7: Review all the information that you entered. Enter the Captcha code to prove that you’re a human and not a robot. Click Refresh Captcha if the code is not legible.

Step 8: Tick the checkbox signifying that the information you entered are correct and accurate, then click the Submit Registration button.

PhilHealth will send you an email with a confirmation message upon successful registration. You can then proceed to the next phase of your application. Start paying your premiums to become an active PhilHealth member and be eligible for benefits.
