How to Load Your PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi

Easy ways to buy load for your PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi number

PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi is probably the most popular prepaid WiFi device in the Philippines because it offers decent speed and affordability in one package. If you’ve just bought this device for home-based work or study, you might be wondering how to load the PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi so that you can register to a FamLoad promo.

Unlike an ordinary mobile phone, you simply cannot bring the PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi to a loading station or prepaid load dealer. It does not have a screen or panel wherein you can easily check if your load has arrived. It does have an admin dashboard though where you can login and read the text messages to see if you successfully loaded the device, but it takes a little more effort.

In this article, I’ll teach you how to load your PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi so that you can start surfing the Internet right away. Every new purchase of the PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi comes with free 10GB of data that’s good for 7 days. After a week or when your free data is fully consumed, whichever comes first, you can buy load and register to a FamLoad promo to continue browsing the Internet.

Buy Load at a Prepaid Load Dealer or Retailer

This is pretty self-explanatory. Just go to a cellphone load load dealer or retailer and load up your PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi number. Your number is usually located at the back or bottom of the modem.

If the staff or salesperson asks what type of load it is, just say “Smart.” Smart prepaid load can be loaded to your PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi.

You can also buy load for PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi at PLDT, Smart and Sun stores.

To check if your load has arrived, use the myPLDT Smart app. Read this article to learn how to register for myPLDT Smart and link your number.

Buy Load from PayMaya

PayMaya is an e-wallet that allows you to buy load, pay bills, send money or shop online using your smartphone. You can top up your PayMaya account through various cash-in facilities like banks, pawnshops and remittance centers. Download the PayMaya app from Google Play or the App Store, and use the referral code 23pfpum to get ₱50 for free.

PayMaya is my favorite way to buy prepaid load because I don’t need to go to the nearby sari-sari store. I can just add money to my PayMaya wallet through BDO or BPI online banking, and then buy load for any mobile network including Smart, TNT, Sun, TM and Globe.

You can either buy regular load for PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi (just choose “Smart or TNT Regular Load”) or buy PLDT FamLoad. When you buy PLDT FamLoad on PayMaya, you can use the promo right away. But if you buy regular load, you will have to convert it to a FamLoad promo on the myPLDT Smart app or at pldthome.com/homewifiload before you can use it to surf the Internet.

How about GCash? It’s still possible to buy load from GCash but take note that GCash may not be able to detect the correct mobile network. I once tried to load my PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi number 09642267314 but the GCash app incorrectly detected it as a Globe number. So unless you want to lose your hard-earned money then I suggest using PayMaya instead of GCash. After all, PayMaya is owned by PLDT and Smart.

Transfer Load or Pasaload

If you’re wary or apprehensive about loading your PLDT number directly, then you can transfer load (or pasaload) to it instead. Only Smart and TNT numbers can send load to PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi.

To transfer load or pasaload, just text <11-digit number> <Amount> and send to 808. For example, 09123456789 200 and send to 808. Reply with YES to the next message to confirm your load transfer. Each transaction will be charged a ₱1 fee on top of the load amount.

After transferring the load, confirm that you received it using the myPLDT Smart app or login to 192.168.1.1 and read the SMS confirmation. You can now register to a FamLoad promo using the myPLDT Smart app or at pldthome.com/homewifiload.

How to Check Your PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi Load

There are two ways to check your load balance in PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi:

  • Using the myPLDT Smart app
  • PLDT Home dashboard

To use the myPLDT Smart app, download it from Google Play or the App Store. Open the app and tap “Register.” It will automatically detect your PLDT number (make sure you’re connected to PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi). Create a password and agree to the terms and conditions.

Once your PLDT number is added, you can view your current balance, remaining data allocation and expiry dates. You can also register to FamLoad promos via the Promos tab.

You can also go to the PLDT Home dashboard at pldthome.com/homewifiload to check your load balance. You must be connected to PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi to access the page. Otherwise, you’ll be redirected to the Smart website.

Conclusion

Buying load for your PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi is easy as long as you know where and how. It’s just like topping up your mobile number. We hope that this article helped you in loading your PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi number. Should you have any questions or concerns, just call the PLDT hotline 171 for assistance.
